Brianna gladney

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Brianna is a 2017 graduate of Xavier University in Ohio. She received her Bachelor’s in Sports Management and Communications while competing as a student-athlete on the Musketeers’ women’s basketball team. Known as a basketball player the majority of her life, Brianna constantly had to prove her talent due to moving twelve times throughout her adolescent years. It was through that experience that she developed a hard work ethic. This work ethic was particularly noticeable in the classroom. Brianna has been recognized as a Big East All-Academic Student-Athlete, Presidential Academic Scholar, and a Dean’s List Student.

A very passionate basketball player, Brianna’s collegiate career came to an early end because of two knee injuries. However, despite this hardship, she did not become defeated. Following her injuries, Brianna dedicated more attention to community and service work. As a student at Xavier, Brianna was active in her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, the North Texas Black Sports Professionals, Black Student Association, and LEAD (Ladies with Emphasis on Achievement and Distinction). Through these organizations, Brianna focused on cultivating ideas that positively impacted her campus, the surrounding community, and African-Americans. As a conscientious African-American female, Brianna is intentional about creating opportunities for young people of color to be successful.

A former intern with the College Football Playoff, Brianna has a desire to one day work in college athletics. She is currently working in executive operations with the Orange Bowl in Miami, FL. As an aspiring Division 1 Commissioner, she is passionate about opportunities to learn from her mentors, as well as, peers.
