cam fenton, texas christian university
Cam is an up and coming young professional in the world of college athletics. Although Cam was not a collegiate student-athlete, he is using his experiences working with the student-athletes as a strength and conditioning coach and being involved in several aspects of college athletics to be a significant influencer for the future of the industry. Cam Fenton joined TCU Athletics as a Marketing Assistant for Group Ticket Sales in August of 2017. Prior to his introduction to Fort Worth, TX, he worked at his alma mater, the University of Illinois, as a strength and conditioning coach training softball, cheerleading, baseball, and soccer.
Cam is a native Chicagoan, born and raised. He traveled two hours south to Champaign, Illinois to complete his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, then Master's degree in Sport Management. During undergrad, Cam worked in the Neurocognitive Kinesiology Lab where he conducted research studies centered around the effects of physical activity and sleep on cognitive performance and development. He has had work published, presented findings at the Illinois Research Symposium, and won the 2014 Outstanding Reach Writing Award for the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). Cam put his research and personal training experience into practice as he joined on with the Fighting Illini strength and conditioning staff, first as a volunteer intern, then as a part-time paid coach. Cam made the transition towards the administration side of athletics as he found himself aspiring to be an influencer over an athletics department and the industry of college athletics at large. The ultimate mission is to put the student-athletes first and to create environments, experiences, and opportunities that will allow them to fulfill their potential in life and within their sport.
