JACQUES WELLS, COLUMBUS STATE UNIVERSITy
Jacques Wells has had experiences in athletics as an athlete, graduate assistant, and employee in professional sports. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Jacques is a former basketball player and graduate of Columbus State University. Jacques earned a Bachelor’ degree in Exercise Science and is in his final semester in pursuit of his Master’s in Public Administration. Wells was a part of a Columbus State 2014-2015 Men’s Basketball team that posted a 22-8 record and was a PBC tournament runner-up and appeared in the NCAA tournament.
Wells joined the athletic administrative staff at Columbus State University as an intern in the spring of 2016, which led to his current role as the operations graduate assistant. Currently, Wells assists in both internal and external operational duties, including game day operations, marketing and compliance. In the summer of 2017, he joined the inaugural staff of the newly constructed Mercedes-Benz Stadium of Atlanta, GA where he works in guest services in premium seating areas accommodating high profile guests during professional and collegiate sporting events. Wells was also a volunteer at the ESPN Camiella Bowl this past December. Jacques desires to become the CFO of a collegiate athletics program on his way to becoming an athletic director at the Division I level. In September of 2016, Wells launched his clothing brand, ‘Last Year Broke’ promoting wellness and wholeness in regards to financial wealth, physical and mental health.
