Morgan Robinson

A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Morgan is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. At Georgia Southern, Morgan majored in Exercise Science, while competing as a student-athlete on the Eagles’ softball team. Morgan recently completed her Master’s in Hospitality Management at Auburn University. Academically, Robinson has received recognition as a Dean’s List student, Southern Conference Honor Roll student, and Sunbelt Commissioners List. She earned a 3.3 GPA at Auburn University. Athletically, she has received recognition as a Southern Conference Champion, All-Southern Conference freshman team, Southern Conference All-Conference, university career record holder for RBI’s, and top five all-time for career home runs and walks.

Although Morgan excelled both academically and athletically at Georgia Southern, her acclimation to Georgia Southern was not easy. Transitioning from a suburban Georgia town to a rural Georgia town was a challenge. Morgan had to adjust to a new culture and lack of access to certain things. This challenge helped Morgan develop certain coping mechanisms such as resiliency and adaptation. She believes those two mechanisms will be beneficial for her career aspirations.

As a Graduate Assistant with the Auburn’s special events department, Morgan recognized the challenges that come with being an African-American woman working in college athletics, however, she believes her experiences have prepared her for the upcoming obstacles. Morgan hopes to gain valuable knowledge that will help her career progress from the Winning Edge Game Changing Retreat.
