Brandon Griffin

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Brandon is a 2018 graduate of Morgan State University. He received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration while competing as a student-athlete on the Bears’ football team. Currently, Brandon is pursuing his Master’s in Journalism at Morgan State, as a fifth-year grad student-athlete. Throughout his college career, Brandon was both an academic and athletic achiever. Academically, Brandon received recognition as an Athletic Director Honor Roll student-athlete. Athletically, Brandon was awarded a MEAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week, MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, and Stats FCS Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention.

As a natural born leader, Brandon is thankful for the impactful opportunities he has been afforded at Morgan State University. As a leader on the football team, Brandon was a catalyst for transforming the toxic culture on the football team. With the assistance of Brandon’s leadership, Morgan State was able to successfully revolutionize their football program. This experience has inspired Brandon to continue being an agent of change. As an aspiring college Defensive Coordinator, Brandon wants to use his platform to assist young men develop into successful individuals on and off the field. 

As an African-American male, Brandon recognizes there is a disparity in African-American coaching representation. However, Brandon is determined to change the culture of college coaching for African-Americans. Furthermore, as the oldest of four, the realization that his siblings are watching him motivates Brandon every day. He is determined to set the best example he can for future generations to come.
