David Jean-Baptise

A native of Miami, Florida, David is a Junior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is currently majoring in Business Management while competing as a student-athlete on the Mocs’ men’s basketball team.  He also competes for the Haitian National Team. Throughout his enrollment at Chattanooga, he has consistently been a Dean’s List Student. David is also active in the community and on campus. Jean is a member of the Student Government Association, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Scholarly Men in Action Member, and NAACP. Through these platforms, Jean-Baptiste is intentional about addressing issues that do not receive enough recognition.

Jean-Baptiste is thankful for the impactful opportunities afforded to him through sport. As the son of a single mother, adversity was a constant in his life. Through basketball, Jean-Baptiste formed a village of coaches, mentors, and friends that assist him through those adverse moments. At the University of Chattanooga, Jean-Baptiste continues to develop meaningful relationships and as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, he aligns himself with a brotherhood that has positively transformed his life.

Appreciative for the opportunity to be a part of the 2019 Winning Edge Game Changing Retreat, Jean-Baptiste hopes to continue developing meaningful relationships. As an inspiring sports professional, with interest in brand management and consulting, Jean-Baptiste is thankful for this professional development opportunity.
